T o be expected, destruction and misery will follow the sinful way. Nothing good will result from any deed done with evil intentions. If one does not seek God’s will, they will not have peace. Sadly, the unregenerate man does not seek to do God’s will but just the opposite. And nothing good can come out of their evil deeds. Every one of us is accountable for our own actions, no matter how harmless or unintentional they are. Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Have you ever been troubled by a guilty conscience over something you said in jest but was taken seriously by your friend? Surely, the misery you felt was terrible. No one and nothing could make you feel better. In fact, sometimes you even feel worse when that friend is so forgiving. The evil deeds committed in verse 15 are much more serious, yet we are all equally guilty before God. Judgement is sure and certain for both Jews and Gentiles. It is pointless to say that the liar is better than the murderer because both are guilty of wrongdoing. It is useless to compare ourselves with others for all will face the same judgement one day. We need to confess our sin and ask the Lord to cleanse us and receive Him as our personal Lord and Saviour.
