T he value of the Oracles is immeasurable and rests upon the attributes of God Himself. God is Holy, True, Wise, Righteous and Just, full of Love, Grace and Mercy. He is the Almighty God, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient and Immutable. God’s holy purpose, absolute truth and wisdom are settled. The Oracles of God are inscripturated in the Holy Bible written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and thus infallible, inerrant and authoritative in all things pertaining to faith and practice [2 Timothy 3:16-17]. Of the Holy Scriptures, the Westminster Confession Chapter 1 Section (1) teaches that:- 1) God reveals Himself in two distinct ways to man: in nature [Psalm 19:1-6] and in Scripture [Psalm 19:7-11] 2) No man can deny the existence of God [Romans 1:20] 3) All men are without excuse for their ignorance and sinful condition [Romans 1:21] 4) Scripture is necessary for true and saving knowledge of God because therein alone is revealed God’s redemptive provision. [G.I. Williamson]. The Bible is unique in that, in no other book does the reader experience the presence of the author and hear His voice speaking to him. The Oracles of God enlighten man’s eye and mind to know – “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” [Romans 3:10]. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” [Romans 3:23]. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” [Romans 6:23]. And that one day he must stand before the only True and Righteous God to be judged [Hebrews 9:27]. Dear reader, will you be ready? The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. – Psalm 19:8
