T here is no difference with regard to man’s need of the Gospel. Superficially, it might seem some among us are morally purer and more upright. Yet the Bible tells us plainly that “there is none righteous, no, not one” [v. 10]. The Bible does not say some people are less sinful than others. There is no difference – all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There is also no difference with regard to God’s salvation plan for man. It does not matter how intelligent or privileged people are, the message of salvation remains the same – we are only righteous before God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. No special privileges are extended to those who are wealthier, smarter or born into a Christian family. There is only one way to heaven for our Lord Jesus says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” [John 14:6]. Nothing can take away the stain of guilt except the blood of Jesus Christ. Some think, “I have done all I can to be obedient in God’s sight”. Others are troubled by their fears and think, “I am such a great sinner! I am so evil, uncaring and cannot love the Lord and His people as I want to.” There is no difference. Both groups equally need the righteousness of God, which is freely and equally available to those who believe in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
LESSON
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.
Lord, thank You that You are the righteous God who has chosen to redeem mankind by the death and resurrection of Your Son. Thank You that I am justified by the righteousness of God through faith in the Lord Jesus, the perfect and only sacrifice for the sin of the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
