W hat would your answer be when you die and face God? The question He will ask is “What right do you have to be allowed into Heaven?” You can justify that you have always been a good person and did not hurt anyone. You did not break the law of the land. Whatever good you have done is of no value unless you are perfect in keeping God’s law to the minutest detail. You have sinned daily. No one is able to keep all of God’s laws. In reality, there is nothing you can say because deep down in your heart you know you have sinned. The scripture records for us that Job kept silent when God asked him to justify himself [Job 38-41]. Isaiah dared not speak until the Lord cleansed his mouth with a piece of burning coal [Isaiah 6:6]. Habakkuk could not talk but trembled at what God revealed to him [Habakkuk 3:16]. John fell at the Lord Jesus Christ’s feet “as though dead” and was in dead silence [Revelation 1:17]. Why did these great men of God keep silent? They knew that it was best to keep silent because God is the Almighty who demands we be sinless. Like everyone else; we are unable to keep all of God’s law. We can only remain silent before the Almighty God. But God sent the Lord Jesus to bear our sins. Jesus is the only sinless One who is also God. Therefore, all who accept Him as their Saviour will be justified and be counted sinless as their sins are forgiven and borne by Him. God will allow us into His Heaven only on the merit of our Lord Jesus Christ our redeemer. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. – Galatians 2:16

LESSON

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
